Golf 7 GTI Tuning: Flash Your GTI Yourself with the NGM App
The Golf 7 GTI responds strongly to software tuning, and the NGM App puts the whole process in your hands. Instead of shipping your ECU or booking a workshop, you flash calibrated Stage 1 and Stage 2 files straight to the engine control unit (and on many models the TCU as well) through the OBD2 port. All six GTI variants are covered, from the 2013 Pre-Facelift with 220 hp to the 290 hp TCR, each with its own files and matching power figures.
Legal note: driving with optimized maps is not permitted on public roads. The files are intended for use on closed race tracks only. The optimization can void your vehicle's type approval and the manufacturer warranty, and you use the software at your own risk.

With the Sound license you add the crackles function to your GTI, the pops and bangs this platform is known for, as a separate experience layer on top of or independent of the performance stages. Like every license, it is a download tied to your VIN and flashed through the same adapter and app.
Please note: vehicles with a manual gearbox and no drive profile selection cannot use the crackles (pops and bangs) function. Check your equipment before you buy the Sound license.
How Golf 7 GTI Software Tuning Works
You do not need a workshop appointment to tune your Golf 7 GTI. The process runs in four steps:
