The facelift model from model year 2024 onwards is no longer supported. TCU software installation is now possible for models manufactured from January 2022 onwards; however, a TCU bench unlock must first be performed by a tuning company.
The Audi RS3 8Y requires an unlock of the engine control unit (ECU) before tuning can be performed. For this vehicle, the ECU must be sent to the company Autotuner to be unlocked. Without this unlock, NGM app tuning is unfortunately not possible. Once the unlock has been completed, you can tune your Audi RS3 8Y as usual with our NGM app tuning and optimize it according to your preferences. Cupra Ateca Tuning with the NGM App
The Cupra Ateca 2.0 TSI leaves the factory with 300 hp (metric, PS) and 400 Nm. With the NGM App you unlock considerably more from exactly this engine: Stage 1 and Stage 2 software that you flash yourself via the OBD2 port, without a workshop appointment. The app supports both the 2018-2020 Ateca and the GEN 4 built from 2020 to 2024, and delivers a genuine power increase through recalibrated engine software alone. All you need is your smartphone (iOS and Android) and the NGM OBD Adapter.
Please note: driving with optimized maps is not permitted on public roads and is intended for closed race tracks only. Optimizations can void the vehicle's type approval and the manufacturer warranty. You use the software at your own risk.
Cupra Ateca Stage 1 and Stage 2: The Numbers
Both engine variants start from 300 hp and 400 Nm. Here is what the NGM App unlocks on your Ateca:
- Ateca 2.0 TSI, 300 hp (2018-2020): Stage 1 up to 375 hp and 490 Nm, Stage 2 up to 390 hp and 510 Nm.
- Ateca GEN 4, 2.0 TSI, 300 hp (2020-2024): Stage 1 up to 390 hp and 500 Nm, Stage 2 up to 440 hp and 570 Nm.
Please note: all maximum power figures were measured with 102 octane fuel and represent the maximum achievable output.
The stages are written to the ECU. For GEN 4 models manufactured from January 2022 onwards, TCU software installation is also possible; in that case a TCU bench unlock must first be performed by a tuning company. The facelift model from model year 2024 onwards is no longer supported.
More Than Power: Sound Functions for Your Ateca
Cupra Ateca tuning is not only about the numbers. The NGM App also offers a Sound license that adds an acoustic layer to the driving experience, with functions such as pops and bangs on the overrun and control of the exhaust flap. The Sound license is available for the 2018-2020 Ateca as well as the GEN 4. As with the performance stages, everything is handled directly through the app on your phone.
How Flashing Works with the NGM App
The process is deliberately simple:
- Plug the NGM OBD Adapter into the OBD2 port of your Ateca.
- Connect the adapter to the NGM App on your iOS or Android phone.
- The app reads the VIN and automatically identifies your exact model and engine variant.
- Choose your stage and flash. Your license is bound to the VIN of exactly one vehicle.
Vehicle data is usually available immediately. Only if the app has never been used with your vehicle and the data has to be prepared first does it typically take around 5 days, and generally no longer than 14 days.
