Skoda Superb Tuning: The Quiet Way to Serious Power

Few cars in the VW Group wear extra power as discreetly as the Skoda Superb: plenty of space, an unassuming look and the familiar EA888 engine underneath. With the NGM App you flash calibrated Stage 1 and Stage 2 maps onto the engine control unit yourself, straight through the OBD2 port. There is no workshop appointment, no ECU removal and no chip swapping involved. Three variants are covered: the Superb 2.0 TSI with 220 PS (2015-2018), the Superb 4x4 with 265-280 PS (2015-2019) and the Superb 4x4 GEN 4 with 280 PS (2020-2023). All power figures on this page are metric PS. The facelift from model year 2024 onwards is no longer supported.

Before you start: driving with optimized maps is not permitted on public roads. The files are intended exclusively for use on closed race tracks. The optimization can void the vehicle's type approval and the manufacturer warranty, and you use it at your own risk.

Skoda Superb Stage 1 and Stage 2: What Your Engine Gets

All three Superb variants build on the EA888, yet each engine gets its own precisely matched file:

• Superb 2.0 TSI (2.0, 220 PS, EA888 Gen3, 2015-2018): stock 220 PS and 350 Nm, Stage 1 up to 300 PS and 460 Nm, Stage 2 up to 320 PS and 500 Nm
• Superb 4x4 (2.0, 265-280 PS, EA888 Gen3, 2015-2019): stock 265-280 PS and 400 Nm, Stage 1 up to 350 PS and 440 Nm, Stage 2 up to 380 PS and 490 Nm
• Superb 4x4 GEN 4 (2.0, 280 PS, EA888 Gen4, 2020-2023): stock 280 PS and 400 Nm, Stage 1 up to 390 PS and 500 Nm, Stage 2 up to 440 PS and 570 Nm

Please note: all maximum power figures were measured with 102 octane fuel and represent the maximum achievable output.

Both stages come together in the All-in-One license, delivered as a download and locked by VIN to exactly one vehicle. On the Superb 4x4 GEN 4 with a production date from January 2022 onwards you can additionally install TCU software for the gearbox control unit; this requires a one-time TCU bench unlock carried out beforehand by a tuning company.

Skoda Superb Pops and Bangs: A Soundtrack to Match

Your Superb may not look like a sports car, but it can sound like one: the separate Sound license adds the crackles function (pops and bangs) to your vehicle. You flash it with the same NGM OBD Adapter and the same app as the performance software, whether you run Stage 1, Stage 2 or a completely stock map. Like every license, it is a download bound by VIN to your car.

Please note: on the Superb 2.0 TSI (220 PS), vehicles with a manual gearbox and no drive profile selection cannot use the crackles function. Check your car's equipment before buying the Sound license.

How to Flash Your Skoda Superb in Four Steps

Your Superb never has to see a workshop for this, everything happens right where it is parked:

• Push the NGM OBD Adapter into your Superb's OBD2 port.
• Open the NGM App on your iOS or Android phone and pair it with the adapter.
• The app reads the VIN and automatically detects which Superb variant you drive.
• Choose your license, start the flash and you are done. The file goes straight onto the control unit.

Tuning data for the Skoda Superb is usually available right away. Only if the app has never been used with your vehicle and the data still has to be prepared does it typically take around 5 days, 14 at most.
